Looking for volunteers to possibly help with establishing a regional geocach trail.
The Southeastern Pennslyvania Resource Conservation and Development Council is hosting a meeting to discuss the potential of creating a regional geocaching trail. The meeting will be on Tuesday, June 23 at 9 AM in the meeting room of the Milford Township Building, Bucks County.
We hope you or a representative of your organization will attend the meeting to discuss this exciting project and consider becoming a partner with the Southeastern PA RC&D Council in this project.
Besides yourself we are inviting representatives from county recreation departments, tourism agencies, geocaching groups, Dept. of Community and Natural Resources Bureau of State Parks and Bureau of State Forestry from the counties of Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, Montgomery, and Northampton Counties.
Geocaching provides local residents as well as visitors to the area the opportunity to visit some of the region's public areas, get some exercise, and enjoy the outdoors.
A similar regional geocaching trial, Allegheny Geo Trail http://www.alleghenygeotrail.com/, was created in Northwestern Pennsylvania and has been very successful. Since October 1, 2007 over 37,000 individually recorded visits at cache sites have occurred.
If you are unable to attend the meeting but are interested in participating in the project, please let me know by sending an email or calling the Southeastern PA RC&D office at 215-453-9527 Ext. 5.
Please share this with others who you think might be interested in participating in this project.
